According to the report, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) decided to conduct the import limitation on imports of hot-rolled steel coils from the member countries for one year from December of this year.

The EAEU member countries included Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The EAEC recently announced the total quota of hot-rolled steel coils was around 1.33 million tons on the above countries, and the imports exceeding quotas would be subject to a 20% special tariff.

In addition, this safeguard measure didn’t apply to hot-rolled steel coils from moderately developed countries, low-developing countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), excluding Ukraine.
