US’ rig number down, Canada’s up w-o-w

According to the report from Baker Hughes, as of the week ended July 19th, the number of US’ drilling rigs totaled 954 units, dropping by 4 units compared to a week ago. Among them, the number of drilling rig for natural gas increased by 2 units week on week to 174 units; that for oil fell by 5 units week on week to 779 units. The total number had a year-on-year decrease of 92 units.
During the same period, the number of Canadian drilling rigs was up by 1 unit to 118 units compared to the previous week, decreasing by 93 units from the same period a year ago.
