US’ crude steel production grows w-o-w

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), as of the week ended July 20th, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.87 million short tons, rising by 1.1% from the same period a week ago, also up by 0.3% from the same period last year. The capacity utilization rate was 80.4%, increasing by 0.2% week on week, also growing by 2% year on year.
As of the week ended July 20th, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 54.2 million short tons in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%. The capacity utilization rate was 81.1%, a year-on-year growth of 4.1%.
