Taiwanese rebar price to keep unchanged this week
23 Jul 2019 14:51 reported by Claude Tseng
Affected by the increment of international scrap prices, Taiwanese mills raised rebar prices in the past weeks.
However, the rebar market demand was not as good as market expectation, and the scrap purchase quantity was limited. The international scrap price rebounded after a low-price level in the past 1~2 months.
Therefore, Taiwanese mills were conservative and offered limited supply quantity when the price was up. Downstream customers also purchased some inventory when the price was low during June.
Besides, the rainy season was also one of the factors for the bad demand. As a result, Taiwanese rebar mills decided to keep the local rebar price flat for this week.
