China automobile sales decline for 11 consecutive months

Chinese automobile sales plummeted by 16.4% in May year-on-year, which not only has gone down for the eleventh month in a row but also was the biggest drop in a single month in history.

According to the statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), automobile production was about 1.85 million in May, which plunged by 21.2% year-on-year.

Moreover, automobile sales were around 1.9 million units, which fell by 16.4% year-on-year. The sales of the passenger car were 1.56 million roughly, dropping by 17.4% year-on-year.

In the first five months, automobile output and sales both declined by 13% year-on-year.
