It was reported that the Mexican steelmaker Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) will increase its steel production by 30% due to the elimination of the 25% steel tariff imposed by the US.

Alonso Ancira Elizondo, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AHMSA, commented that after the imposition of the US tariff, his company lowered its steel production whose final destination was the US, and the affected amount was about 25-30% of the production capacity of AHMSA, of which the Mexican steelmaker suffered a very serious recession.
