Worldsteel: Global steel demand to up by 1.3% in 2019, 1% in 2020 by annual basis

According to World Steel Association (worldsteel)'s report, the global steel demand will reach 1.73 billion tons in 2019, a rise of 1.3% compared to 2018. The worldsteel also forecasted the steel demand for 2020 would grow by 1% to 1.75 billion tons.

The report showed that steel demand in developing economies except China would grow by 2.9% and 4.6% in 2019 and 2020 respectively; steel demand would also grow in China and the EU while it will drop in the US, Japan and South Korea.
