Yodogawa Steel divests 95% stake in Chinese subsidiary YSS

Hebei Xinjin Wanli New Material Science & Technology Co., Ltd. will acquire a 95% stake in Yodogawa-Shengyu (Hefei) High-Tech Steel Co., Ltd. (YSS) under a deal approved by Yodogawa Steel Works, Ltd. on June 26. The transaction aims to streamline overseas operations and reallocate management resources.

Yodogawa Steel will transfer a 74.09% interest for CNY 181.52 million, retaining a 5% share. Its subsidiary, Sheng Yu, will divest a 20.9% stake for CNY 51.23 million. Consequently, YSS will be excluded from consolidated financial statements.

Established in 2011 in Anhui, YSS manufactures galvanized and pre-painted steel sheets, mainly serving the market in China. Financial data reveals sales dropped to CNY 395 million in 2025 from CNY 593 million in 2023. YSS turned a CNY 1 million profit in 2025 after losses in 2023 and 2024.
