Yieh Phui Sees Coated Steel Market Turning Up as Raw Material Costs Strengthen

9 Sep 2026 13:23 reported by Joe Li

Taiwan’s major coated steel producer Yieh Phui Enterprise has turned more positive on the steel market as rising raw-material costs and improving supply-demand conditions provide stronger support for galvanized and pre-painted steel prices.

Yieh Phui expects the market to strengthen gradually rather than experience a sharp rebound. The company sees steel prices bottoming in August, stabilizing in September and moving into a moderate recovery from October, with the fourth quarter expected to become an important period for improving operations.

The group’s coated steel business also maintains a substantial presence in both Taiwan and China. During the first half of 2026, Yieh Phui sold approximately 960,000 tons of galvanized and pre-painted steel products, comprising around 590,000 tons in Taiwan and 370,000 tons in China.
