Worldsteel: Global crude steel production decreases in Apr y-o-y

According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production totaled 153.4 million tons in April, falling by 1.9% compared to the year-ago level.

Among them, Asia's crude steel production reached 114.2 million tons, down by 1.33% year on year, of which China's output accounted for 83.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8%.

The crude steel production from 27 EU countries was 11.1 million tons, sliding by 1.8% year on year. Meanwhile, North American crude steel output was 9.4 million tons, up by 6.9% year on year; South American output was 3.4 million tons, increasing by 3.1% year on year.

Crude steel production in Africa was up by 11.5% year on year to 2.1 million tons, and the output in the Middle East dropped by 27.6% year on year to 3.7 million tons.
