Walsin Lihwa’s revenue drops in Aug but future outlook is positive

Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, announced its August consolidated revenue fell to NT$12.55 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 11.4% and a month-on-month drop of 12.08%. This performance was an 18-month low, mainly due to the New Taiwan dollar's earlier rapid appreciation.

Despite the monthly decline, cumulative revenue for the first eight months remained stable at nearly NT$128 billion, a slight decrease of 0.09% from the corresponding period in the previous year.

The company's future performance is expected to improve. Factors such as the New Taiwan dollar's recent depreciation, clarity on US tariffs, and the anticipated US interest rate cut are expected to drive better results. The end of Europe's summer holiday is also a positive sign for the company's business outlook.
