VSB Integrated Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of the VSB Group, is developing an 8 MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic system on the thyssenkrupp Rasselstein premises in Andernach.

Scheduled for construction in the fourth quarter of 2026 and completion by mid-2027, the project utilizes approximately 12,000 modules across 5.2 hectares. The installation will generate about 8 gigawatt-hours of green electricity annually for complete on-site consumption, supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The initiative funds zero capital investment from the industrial customers, utilizing CO2-reduced bluemint® Steel from thyssenkrupp Steel with ZM EcoProtect® Solar coating for the steel substructure to advance corporate decarbonization and ensure energy cost predictability.
