Vietnam-Italy Steel, a subsidiary of Japan's Kyoei Steel Group, has launched a new high-speed rolling mill in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The new mill, supplied by Danieli, will produce 500,000 tons of rebar annually, ranging from 10 to 51 mm in diameter.

This greenfield project integrates advanced technology for high-quality production. The mill uses a six-pass multidrive, high-speed, twist-free finishing block for precise dimensions and features Danieli's Q-Heat induction heaters, which minimize direct carbon emissions.

The new facility's automatic wire-binding machines also ensure high bundle shape quality.

By linking to an existing caster, the facility can operate in a billet-to-billet direct-charge mode, supporting a greener operation.
