Vale port fire incident does not affect iron ore exports

12 Sep 2025 15:59 reported by Liv Wang

Vale, Brazil's leading iron ore producer, stated that a fire broke out at one of its operated ports in Brazil, but it is expected not to affect the company's export schedule.

Influenced by this news, the SGX IODEX iron ore futures October contract price hit a yearly high on September 10.

Despite market reports indicating the incident will not affect shipments, Chinese steel mills will continue to track price trends to assess the real impact carefully.
