According to Mexican guild National Auto Parts Industry (INA by its Spanish abbreviation), the 25% US tariffs on Mexican steel and aluminum affect the national auto parts sector by a value of approximately US$2.94 billion.

This amount comes from the additional cost of vehicle parts such as bumpers, hinges, air conditioning parts, and more. INA figures indicate that Mexico is the largest supplier of auto parts to the US, followed by China and Taiwan.

Gabriel Padilla, INA's general director, said that the entire sector supports the Ministry of Economy's efforts to negotiate with the US, seeking to exempt 88% of the auto parts traded under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement from tariffs.
