US launches AD & CVD probes on OCTG from 3 countries

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) started preliminary anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations into oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from Austria, Taiwan, and the UAE to evaluate if these imports harm domestic producers.

The probe responds to petitions from the U.S. OCTG Manufacturers Association, United States Steel Corporation, United Steelworkers, and AFL-CIO. The specific members of the U.S. OCTG Manufacturers Association joining the petition include Axis Pipe and Tube LLC, Borusan Pipe U.S., Inc., PTC Liberty Tubulars LLC, Tenaris USA, Vallourec STAR L.P., and Welded Tube USA, Inc.

A preliminary determination from the USITC is expected to be issued by May 18, 2026.

The products involved are under subheadings 7304.29.10, 7304.29.20, 7304.29.31, 7304.29.41, 7304.29.50, 7304.29.61, 7305.20.20, 7305.20.40, 7305.20.60, 7305.20.80, 7306.29.10, 7306.29.20, 7306.29.31, 7306.29.41, 7306.29.60, and 7306.29.81 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
