UK TRA proposes dimensional revision for AD investigation scope on South Korea’s hot-rolled steel plates

16 Jan 2026 15:04 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) proposed to revise the scope of the investigation into South Korean hot-rolled steel plates by excluding products with a width of 2500mm or more. This adjustment addresses a gap in the domestic market because UK manufacturers cannot produce these wide plates while certain local manufacturing sectors depend on them for production.

Under the new proposal, the investigation focuses on flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel between 600mm and 2499mm wide that are hot-rolled and at least 4.75mm thick. This scope includes iron or non-alloy products that are either unclad or clad, as well as other alloy steel products within the same width and thickness ranges. The probe covers perforated, non-perforated, or specifically shaped items, but it excludes tool steel, high-speed steel, and silicon-electrical steel.

The commodity codes remain the same, which are 7208 5120, 7208 5191, 7208 5198, 7208 5210, 7208 5291, 7208 5299, 7208 9020, 7208 9080, 7210 9030, 7225 4040, and 7225 4060.

Interested parties have until February 5, 2026, to provide comments on these proposed changes.
