Turkey reports growth in Jan-Oct wire rod exports

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled around 768,400 tons in the first ten months of this year, slightly up by 0.3% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value dropped by 6% year on year to roughly US$441 million.

Among them, Romania was the main export destination with roughly 272,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 15%. Bulgaria followed with around 58,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14%, and Libya ranked third with about 52,300 tons.

In October alone, Turkey exported about 54,000 tons of wire rod, a month-on-month drop of 41% and a year-on-year surge of 74%. The value of these exports reached approximately US$30 million, down by 41% month on month but rising by 60% year on year.
