thyssenkrupp sells final Acciai Speciali Terni stake to Arvedi Group

The Italian Arvedi Group bought the remaining 15% stake in Acciai Speciali Terni S.p.A. (AST) from thyssenkrupp, completing a divestment process started in 2021. This transaction grants Arvedi total control over the Italian stainless steel plant and its distribution networks in Germany, Italy, and Turkey.

The transaction generated a high double-digit million euro cash inflow for thyssenkrupp. The German company previously kept the minority stake to support operational cooperation during a transitional phase.

Executive Board member Volkmar Dinstuhl said that the sale aligns with plans to streamline the corporate portfolio and increase financial flexibility.

This move supports thyssenkrupp’s active corporate transformation. Under its ACES 2030 future model, the organization is converting into a financial holding structure to house independent companies under a single roof.
