Taiwan’s Walsin Lihwa Q3 profit surges on wire & cable strength

10 Nov 2025 14:53 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, reported its third-quarter 2025 after-tax net profit of NT$998 million, soaring by 180.4% year on year, primarily due to non-operating income. Earnings per share reached NT$0.23.

The profit was largely driven by a stable performance in its wire and cable division, benefiting from Taipower's Grid Resilience Strengthening Construction Plan. However, the stainless steel division reported an operating loss due to weak global demand and European seasonality, though it was offset by nearly NT$1.2 billion in unrealized financial valuation gains.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, it is expected that the stainless steel and resource divisions will remain conservative due to market oversupply and slow recovery, while the wire and cable division will continue its steady growth.
