Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, announced pricing for October, keeping 304 stainless steel wire rods flat, together with series 200 and 400 grades. However, the company raised copper-bearing and free-cutting 304 products by NT$1,000 per ton, and 316 grades containing molybdenum by NT$2,000 per ton.

The company explained that domestic stainless steel scrap prices increased by nearly 5% from the prior month, raising production expenses. Furthermore, artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion sustains high price levels for essential alloy metals like copper and molybdenum used in liquid cooling and transmission components.

Balancing downstream export competitiveness, benchmark prices remained unchanged following September's NT$3,000 increase, with adjustments applied selectively to alloy-specific grades to reflect material costs.
