Taiwan’s traders calculate safe arrival dates amid looming cold-rolled steel AD risks

4 Mar 2026 14:48 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Taiwan’s carbon steel producer China Steel Corporation (CSC) plans to file an anti-dumping (AD) petition against cold-rolled steel from China and South Korea, potentially as early as mid-March. Importers now face significant risks due to a possible 90-day retroactive tax once a preliminary ruling confirms dumping and industrial damage.

Market participants are currently calculating safe arrival dates to avoid unexpected costs. If CSC submits the petition in March, a preliminary decision could arrive by July, placing April imports at risk.

Although these measures protect domestic prices, downstream processors worry about losing cost advantages compared to international competitors. The timing of this filing remains the primary focus for traders managing inventory and logistics.
