Taiwan’s fastener, hand tool, wire associations welcome CSC Q4 flat wire rod pricing

Taiwan industry heads welcomed China Steel Corporation (CSC) maintaining flat wire rod pricing for the fourth quarter, ending two consecutive quarters of increases despite rising metallurgical coal expenses and production costs.

Yung-Yu Tsai, Chairman of the Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute, said that the decision reflects producers' consideration for downstream challenges amid labor shortages and geopolitical conflicts, advising members to maintain steady operations until market conditions improve.

Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers' Association Chairman Wu-Zhi Hsieh expressed appreciation for the supportive measure during a difficult international climate, noting it helps stabilize order processing despite lacking immediate export stimulation.

Taiwan Steel Wire & Wire Rope Industries Association Chairman Yen-Ching Wu added that while regional demand remains subdued and weather disruptions have curbed order volumes, stable pricing prevents further cost pressures. Operators must monitor purchasing recovery and watch for future special project offerings from CSC.
