Statkraft, Fortia Energía, Network Steel launch 5-year renewable power deal for Spanish steel industry

Statkraft, Fortia Energía, and Network Steel began a five-year power purchase agreement (PPA), supplying about 50% of the Spanish steel industry’s annual electricity consumption through solar and wind power.

The contract is based on Statkraft’s renewable generation portfolio in Spain, with Fortia Energía purchasing the energy and distributing it to companies under stable tariff conditions. Network Steel, which operates seven plants across the Iberian Peninsula and produces nearly one million tons of steel annually, will secure a steady energy supply for its operations.

Fortia Energía, founded in 2007, serves as a demand aggregator for major industrial consumers and is now the largest independent energy supplier in the Iberian market, managing over 150 industrial sites. Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, continues to expand in Spain, offering customized clean energy contracts that support the industrial sector’s energy transition.
