The Saudi Arabian government-owned Water Transmission and Technologies Company (WTCO) is fast-tracking two major Independent Water Transmission System (IWTS) tenders to enhance desalinated water supply and inland delivery.

The Ras Mohaisen-Baha-Makkah project, with a daily capacity of 542,000 m³, includes 325 km of pipelines, four pumping stations, and water storage facilities linking the  Ras Mohaisen desalination plant with Baha and Makkah.

The Jubail-Buraidah II project, designed for 840,000 m³ per day, covers 348 km of pipelines and a main pumping station to secure water for the Al-Qassim region.

Together spanning nearly 700 km, these projects will require substantial volumes of spiral-welded pipes, structural sections, and rebar, providing a significant and stable boost to domestic steel industry demand.
