Jingjiang Yongjin Metal Technology, a stainless steel producer in China, has issued the final acceptance certificate (FAC) to Primetals Technologies for the electrical upgrade of its 20-high reversing cold mill No. 3.

The project, utilizing comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 automation, has realized excellent mill availability and production performance.

The installation featured a new drives system, including the HD33 medium-voltage drive, supplied through a strategic partnership with industrial automation leader Inovance. This collaboration leveraged Inovance’s drive expertise and Primetals’ process knowledge to ensure precise speed and tension control.

The standardized, modular solution lowered costs and accelerated commissioning, resulting in superior surface finishes and tight thickness tolerances for Jingjiang Yongjin.
