NLMK Group initiates production of ultra-thin cold-rolled steel starting at 0.2 mm in thickness

1 Oct 2026 16:46 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
NLMK Group developed a manufacturing process for ultra-thin cold-rolled steel starting from 0.2 millimeters using low-carbon, high-ductility steels, plus specialized grades upon request.

The expanded range features skin-passed pickled flat products measuring 0.28 to 0.4 millimeters thick and 900 to 1250 millimeters wide, coupled with fully hard products measuring 0.2 to 0.4 millimeters thick and 900 to 1670 millimeters wide.

Product advantages include reduced metal consumption, precise geometric stability with a thickness tolerance of plus or minus 0.01 millimeters, and enhanced flatness. Applications target commercial fixtures, thermal equipment, industrial packaging, and coated steel manufacturing sectors.
