The Moroccan authorities confirmed that as part of the extensive safeguards implemented last year, the current imports of India-made hot-rolled coils (HRC) into the country will be imposed a 25% tariff.

The local customs authority confirmed that after initially excluding India from tariffs, it has removed India from the list of developing countries. Therefore, Indian HRC will face the import tariffs until April 2023, like other countries that are also the main sources for Morocco.

However, the authorities said that Indian-origin imported products that have issued transport documents before January 28, 2021 will not be subject to this measure.
