Thailand’s Millcon Steel Public Company Limited and Singapore’s Meranti Green Steel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance low-carbon steel production in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership focuses on decarbonizing the manufacturing process to meet the international environmental standards and Thailand’s emission reduction targets.

Government support from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization accompanies the initiative, which seeks to establish new industry guidelines and mechanisms.

Meranti Green Steel also plans to incorporate future green iron production from Oman into the supply chain. By collaborating across the value chain, both companies aim to secure long-term competitiveness while transitioning the local industry toward sustainable green steel practices.
