Mexico's Economy Minister, Marcelo Ebrard, met with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick at the G20 summit last week. The meeting aimed to negotiate tariffs on steel, aluminum, and automobile sectors, the main points of bilateral tension.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the efforts to reach agreements within the framework of the review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Mexico maintains that unilateral tariffs distort productive integration and affect supply chains in the manufacturing industry in North America region.
