Metinvest Group reduced steel production by 10% year-on-year to 1.45 million tons in the first nine months of 2025, with pig iron output down by 6% to 1.28 million tons. In the third quarter, pig iron and steel production rose by 41% and 30% quarter-on-quarter to 497,000 tons and 546,000 tons, respectively. The company said output improved following the restart of blast furnace No. 9 at the Kametstal steel plant after major repairs, though the overhaul negatively affected results for the first nine months.

Commercial steel production grew by 4% year-on-year to 2.39 million tons. Flat products reached 817,000 tons, long products 1 million tons, and semi-finished goods 568,000 tons. Third-quarter output totaled 858,000 tons. Scheduled maintenance at rolling mills in Italy and Bulgaria lowered rolled steel volumes, while higher pig iron supported increased semi-finished production.

Iron ore concentrate output fell 4% year-on-year to 11.71 million tons, while coke production declined 3% to 821,000 tons. The group’s coal segment remained under pressure due to security, operational, and market challenges, including the suspension of the Pokrovsk Coal Group.
