The rolling mills of Kametstal steel plant have begun producing B500C class rebar for Romanian consumers, the company said. The products were successfully certified at the end of last year by the Romanian certification body ICECON.

Since the beginning of 2026, Kametstal has shipped more than 2,300 tons of rebar with nominal diameters of 8 to 25 mm to Romania. The company said the B500C rebar produced according to Romanian standards features specific geometric parameters, defined weight per running meter, and a unique caliber pattern. The products also meet extended mechanical property requirements, including higher strength and rigidity required for EU construction standards.

Olexander Oliynyk, chief rolling mill operator and head of the rolling mill shop, said rebar of various sizes for Romanian partners has become a stable part of the monthly production program of the 400/200 mill. Kametstal also received a positive technical certificate for B500C rebar with diameters of 8 to 32 mm from Romania’s Permanent Technical Council for Construction, enabling Metinvest to supply Ukrainian steel products to the Romanian market.
