Jubilee restores Roan concentrator operations in Zambia

8 Jun 2026 13:50 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Jubilee Metals Group has resumed full capacity at its Roan concentrator in Ndola, Zambia, targeting a monthly run-of-mine throughput of 30,000 tons. The restart follows a scheduled annual maintenance shutdown completed in May, during which engineers upgraded the facility to counter a significant increase in global fuel and acid costs.

Upgrades include an expanded copper oxide flotation circuit designed to boost recovery efficiency by 5%, offsetting higher transport expenses. Besides, Jubilee commissioned a new fine copper concentrate dewatering facility to manage a stream that represents about 25% of Roan’s feedstock copper. The company transports these materials to its Sable refinery in Kabwe.

In addition, the firm is also evaluating an extra dense medium separation (DMS) circuit to potentially expand throughput.
