JSW Steel reported combined crude steel production of 30.14 million tons in the fiscal year 2026 (April 2025-March 2026), rising by 8% compared to the previous year and hitting a record high for the company.

The capacity utilization for its Indian operations stood at about 92% excluding Blast Furnace No. 3 (BF-3) at Vijayanagar, and around 87% including it.

At its Salem plant, the upgrade of one of the casters was completed in January 2026, followed by the commissioning of a ladle furnace and vacuum degasser in February. The integrated facilities are expected to increase the plant’s annual capacity from 1.0 million tons to 1.15 million tons.

Meanwhile, BF-3 at the Vijayanagar plant has remained offline since the end of September 2025 for expansion works, impacting overall crude steel output and capacity utilization during the fiscal year.

In the fourth quarter, crude steel production reached 7.49 million tons, with utilization at around 96% excluding BF-3 and 87% including it.
