JSW Energy has begun operations at India's largest green hydrogen manufacturing facility, located near the JSW Steel plant in Vijayanagar, Karnataka.

The plant will supply green hydrogen directly to JSW Steel's Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) unit for the production of low-carbon steel and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Under a seven-year agreement, JSW Energy will provide 3,800 tons per annum (TPA) of green hydrogen and 30,000 TPA of green oxygen to the steelmaker. This capacity is part of the company's allocation under the government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The company aims to boost its supply to 85,000-90,000 TPA of green hydrogen and 720,000 TPA of green oxygen by the year 2030, reinforcing its clean energy position and supporting India’s goal of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen annually.
