Japan & Vietnam strengthen cooperation in energy and minerals

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi visited Hanoi and pledged to strengthen ties with Vietnam, particularly in energy and strategic minerals. Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and space development.

Japan said it will support Vietnam in securing energy supply, as oil prices remain volatile and supply chain risks increase. The two countries also stressed the importance of improving regional supply chain resilience, especially across Asia.
