Indian steel producer Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (SMEL) reported stainless steel sales of 10,920 tons in August 2026, up 16.44% year on yea.

The company said the average realized price for its stainless steel products in August increased by 2.21% compared with the average level recorded in July 2026.

Meanwhile, SMEL’s carbon steel flat product sales reached 29,262 tons in August, surging 114% from the same period a year earlier. Sales of specialty alloys increased by 27.97% year on year to 19,002 tons during the month.

In contrast, carbon steel long product sales declined by 2.76% year on year to 142,897 tons.
