Mukand Sumi Special Steel (MSSSL), a steel long product manufacturer in India, has placed an order with Danieli for a new blooming mill, which will be installed at its Hospet plant in Karnataka, India.

The new special bar quality (SBQ) blooming mill, with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year, will produce blooms measuring up to 380 mm by 420 mm, square billets of 160 to 180 mm, and finished round products with a diameter of 100 to 200 mm.

This investment will expand MSSSL's production capacity, optimizing its product mix for industries such as automotive, energy, and oil and gas, and improving overall yield and product quality.

Danieli will supply the mechanical equipment, process controls and electrics, MV motors, advisory, commissioning services, as well as on-site training. The new mill is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026.
