India launches AD probe on 300 and 400 series cold-rolled stainless steel

India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on imports of cold-rolled flat products of stainless steel 300 and 400 series from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam, following an application filed by the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA), which alleged injury caused to the domestic industry due to large volumes of low-priced imports.

The DGTR will assess the existence and extent of dumping and its impact on Indian manufacturers. If dumping is confirmed, the authority may recommend duties on the subject products after being approved by the Ministry of Finance.

The period of investigation is from April 2024 to March 2025, and the injury investigation period is 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, and the investigation period.

The products involved are under HS codes 721990, 721911, 721912, 721913, 721914, 721921, 721922, 721923, 721924, 721931, 721932, 721933, 721934, 721935, 721990, 722011, 722012, 722020, and 722090.
