The global shipping market continues to recover. According to the latest data from Drewry, the World Container Index (WCI) rose 1% week on week to US$2,213 per 40-foot container as of December 25, marking a 4th consecutive weekly increase.

Among major routes, spot rates on the Asia-Europe trade lane have also extended their upward trend for four straight weeks. Drewry noted that carriers have begun accepting advance bookings ahead of the Lunar New Year in February 2026, strengthening demand expectations and market tendency. Freight rates are expected to see further small gains this week.
