Effective on Jan. 1st, 2006, Hydro will 100% own the cast house of Hamburger Aluminium-Werk (HAW). HAW, which with 100 employees will turn out aluminum sheet ingots of 130,000 tons annually, as the largest re-melting plant of Hydro's. Hydro will also take over some major infrastructures like power unit, water processing and treatments from HAW to secure the plant in operation. Overall, Hydro now runs two aluminum units in Hamburg, the rolling mill and the cast house with total headcounts over 620.
