Ferrexpo, a Swiss-based commodity trading and mining company has resumed iron ore production in Ukraine on September 7 after a month-long suspension of its mining and pelletizing operations.

In late July, a vessel carrying iron ore pellets was attacked by Russian drones. Following the incident, Ferrexpo suspended its Ukrainian iron ore mining and pellet production operations in early August amid heightened operational and security risks.

According to Ferrexpo’s latest financial results, the company produced approximately 1.56 million tons of iron ore products in the first half of 2026, including 1.39 million tons of iron ore pellets and 171,000 tons of iron ore concentrate.
