Ferrexpo halts Ukrainian iron ore operations amid export and funding constraints

6 Aug 2026 16:20 reported by Munsey

A A A
Ferrexpo has temporarily suspended iron ore production in Ukraine, citing restricted Black Sea export routes and the need to protect its working capital.

The company said continued threats of attacks near Ukrainian ports have significantly limited its ability to ship products through the region. Existing inventories will allow Ferrexpo to continue supplying its European customers during the production stoppage.

The restart of operations will depend partly on securing additional working capital, while current net cash resources are expected to last until mid-September 2026 without new funding.
