Derichebourg finalizes acquisition of Scholz Recycling Group

5 Aug 2026 15:38 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Derichebourg Environnement, Derichebourg SA’s subsidiary, completed the purchase of the entire share capital of Scholz Recycling Group for an enterprise value of EUR 480 million, funded through existing cash and credit facilities.

The transaction integrates more than 180 sites and joint ventures across Europe, expanding operational reach into regions with little prior presence and supporting regional decarbonization as European steelmakers replace traditional blast furnaces with electric arc furnaces.

The deal emerged from a competitive tender process managed by independent administrators. Derichebourg and its advisers noted that ongoing legal proceedings in Hong Kong involving the parent holding company did not prevent the finalization of the purchase.

The acquisition maintains a post-transaction leverage ratio of 3 times EBITDA and aims to generate medium-term value for the corporation.
