Deacero begins work on new recycling plant in Ciudad Juárez

Deacero, a Mexican steel manufacturer, officially broke ground on a new recycling plant in Ciudad Juárez with an investment of 250 million Mexican pesos. The facility will process about 10,000 tons of scrap monthly and is projected to create around 1,540 direct and indirect jobs in the region.

The plant will specialize in shredding scrap metal to produce steel, including rebar and wire rod. Raw Materials Director Rodolfo Fernández said that 99% of inputs will be recycled materials, showing the company's commitment to sustainability.

The facility will include integrated railroad tracks for optimized logistics. Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar welcomed the investment, pledging the city's support for the project, which aims to strengthen the region's industrial infrastructure.
