Danieli has signed a contract with Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. to supply a new 55-ton ECS Zerobucket™ electric arc furnace (EAF). The investment marks the Chinese special steel producer’s first adoption of EAF technology and a significant step in its transition from traditional blast furnace/basic oxygen furnace production toward lower-carbon steelmaking. 

According to Danieli, the ECS Zerobucket™ system can significantly reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, and harmful gases such as dioxins compared with conventional bucket-charging EAFs.

The project builds on previous cooperation between the two companies in casting and rolling technologies. Danieli will also provide local manufacturing, commissioning, and technical support services to ensure the successful startup and operation of the new facility.
