Damen Naval signs steel supply deal for Colombian frigate

Damen Naval has signed a contract with De Jong & Lavino for the steel to build Colombia's Plataforma Estratégica de Superficie (PES) frigate.

 

The agreement covers the supply of approximately 1,325 metric tons of steel plates and profiles. The materials will be shipped from the Netherlands to the Cotecmar shipyard in Colombia under CFR terms.

 

This comprehensive contract consolidates all steel procurement from 2025 to 2027. The delivery schedule is aligned with the shipyard's production timeline to ensure an efficient building process.
