Greece's natural gas transmission system operator DESFA awarded Corinth Pipeworks a contract to supply steel linepipes for the Karperi-Komotini high-pressure branch duplication project.

The agreement covers over 200 kilometers of 30-inch Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes, manufactured at Thisvi facilities with exterior polyethylene anti-corrosion coatings and internal epoxy linings. Spanning 218.5 kilometers, the network features a future-proof design capable of transporting up to 100% pure hydrogen, aligning with European Union clean energy objectives.

The expansion eliminates northern grid bottlenecks, strengthens regional energy security, and increases cross-border capacity for the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria pipeline.

Corinth Pipeworks operates as the steel pipe segment of CNOPS, delivering advanced infrastructure for traditional natural gas and clean energy sectors.
