According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China's vehicle production and sales in 2025 reached approximately 34.5 million units and 34.4 million units, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 10.4% and 9.4%. This achievement marked a new historical high, with China maintaining its position as the world's largest auto market for the 17th consecutive year.

New energy vehicles (NEVs) led the surge, with production and sales exceeding 16 million units, accounting for over 50% of domestic new vehicle sales and establishing themselves as the dominant force in the market. In terms of exports, total vehicle exports surpassed 7 million units, with NEV exports reaching roughly 2.6 million units, doubling compared to the previous year.

The year's production and sales exceeded expectations. Notably, Chinese-brand passenger vehicles captured nearly 70% of the sales share, representing a 4.3% increase from the previous year.
