CBSA issues final AD & CVD rulings on China’s cast iron soil pipes

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced its final affirmative determination on January 7, 2026, regarding anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) for Chinese cast iron soil pipes.

This decision concludes a probe that began in July 2025 and passed a preliminary stage last October. The targeted goods fall under customs codes 7303.00.00.10 and 7303.00.00.90.

Attention now turns to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), which must decide if these imports caused material injury to local industry. A final ruling on damage is expected by February 6, 2026. If the CITT finds injury, the current tax rates will remain in place to protect the domestic market from subsidized and undervalued products.
